" The most interesting postage stamp of New Zealand"

is how  R.J G Collins described the two shilling Captain Cook  stamp from the 1935 pictorial set.

Of its 120 single impressions, it is through its flaws, graver slips and re-entries,  one is able to attempt re construct the first plate.
